I did it.

Woo-hoo.  I made it all the way through the month, a post every day.  Yay for NaBloPoMo.  Today has been a long day so far, but it’s going to have a great ending.  My little brother has been in Thailand serving a religious mission for the last couple of years, and I have another brother who lives across the country.  The missionary brother comes home tonight, and the other brother is in town to see him too.  All my siblings are going to be around this weekend, and it’s going to be awesome to get to see them, though I doubt I’ll study like I ought to.  Just a couple more hours until I get to see them all.  We’ll have a busy weekend, as my mom wants to do family pictures this weekend while everyone is here, so we’ve got that planned, and I want to hang out with them while they’re here too, so I’m trying to study hard right now (except I’m posting on my blog right now, so maybe I’m not trying that hard), so I can take some time off to hang out with them.  I’m really excited though, and having a hard time concentrating on my Psychiatry.  I guess I’d better wrap this up and get back to that.

New iPod software

Well, it looks like Apple has released some new iPod software for the 5th (5.5th) generation iPods.  It just lists “Bug Fixes” as the content of the new update, so I don’t have much hope of having any of the cool features that the 160GB iPods do on my 80GB model, but maybe some day.  I can’t see any real reason I wouldn’t be able to have those features on this one, the video system seems pretty much the same.  Meh, I didn’t notice too many bugs, except those associated with syncing with Outlook’s Calendar, and I’ve worked around those already.

Maybe they’ll surprise me though… or maybe not.  It just finished restarting, and it doesn’t look like it’s got any new features.  Oh well.

Podcast on the weekend

Okay.  I don’t think the podcast is going to happen until this weekend, so it’ll have to wait until then.  I’ve got to get back to studying.

Okay, tomorrow then.

So, I have been working on projects for school all day today, and again haven’t had time to actually do the podcast I’m wanting to do.  So perhaps tomorrow I’ll find time and get it done.  Today I finished a nutrition project that involved keeping track of everything I ate for three days and analyzing my nutrient intake for those days.  It was quite surprising to see how deficient I am in a lot of nutrients.  I’ve managed to stay within the DRIs for fats of all types, and for cholesterol, but I’m substantially low in my intakes of many, many important vitamins and minerals.  I’m also safely under my recommended caloric limits per day on my typical day, which is good, as I’m trying to lose a bit of weight.  I could fix a lot of my nutrient deficiencies by increasing my portions, but that would decrease my calorie deficit, and I think my weight is currently a more pressing issue than undernutrition is for me, despite what the analysis says.  So I don’t foresee myself making any major changes any time soon, but it was an eye-opening experience all the same.

New Podcast tomorrow

I was going to do a new podcast tonight, but I’ve run out of time to do it while researching my topic, so it’ll have to wait until tomorrow. Today’s been a busy day, and it’s finally the end of it, so I’m going to make this post short and say goodnight.

I do, however, have another addition to the list of rules:

Rule #375-If you see a number on your caller ID, and you don’t recognize it, and whoever it was didn’t leave a message, don’t call it back and say, “Hi, I saw your number on my caller ID, why’d you call me?” or anything to that effect.  It makes you look like a moron and can be considered sufficient cause to remove your toenails one at a time while playing “Achy-breaky heart” on constant repeat.
